Radical & Restorative Therapy was created with the intention to provide accessible and inclusive care to marginalized communities. You can learn more about our practice at our website here: www.radicalandrestorative.com.

One way we put this intention into practice is by creating mutual aid funds to cover the cost of therapy sessions for marginalized clients. With this campaign, we hope to have funds ready to offer to clients to cover the cost of a session when a client is in a bind or may otherwise have to cancel their session due to finances. Supporters can donate a one-time donation or recurring monthly donation that will go towards covering the expense of therapy for marginalized people.

Our previous campaign focused on covering 10 sessions for one client and it was successful in covering expenses for a handful of clients. However, with the recession intensifying and cost of living increasing, it seemed necessary to pivot a bit. For now, we found it may be more beneficial to offer more in-the-moment relief. For example, if a client needs to cancel a session due to finances or push the next appointment out further, we would offer to cover the expense of one session from this fund. Currently, our rates range from $40-$80, so this would be our segmented goal to be able to offer the coverage rather than the previous campaign where we had to get to $500 before being able to use the funds.
